1. What ARMGDDN Browser Is

ARMGDDN Browser is a private, Telegram-authenticated web app for browsing and downloading curated content across multiple remotes (PC games, PCVR, extras, and more). It is fast, secure, and read-only for normal users — you browse and download, but you cannot modify anything.

All downloads go through the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app, which handles the heavy lifting reliably in the background while you do something else.

2. Getting Access & Logging In

2.1 Requirements

• A modern desktop or laptop (Windows, Linux, or macOS).
• A modern web browser.
• A Telegram account — used for authentication.
• The ARMGDDN Companion desktop app installed (required for downloading; see Section 11).

2.2 Telegram Authentication

On the login screen, click the Telegram login widget and authorize via Telegram. Once confirmed, your avatar and name appear in the top-right corner and the remotes landing page unlocks. Authentication is verified server-side — your Telegram credentials are never stored by ARMGDDN.

Access is checked periodically. If you leave the associated Telegram channel, you will be warned and eventually logged out automatically.

3. Landing Page: Remotes Grid

3.1 Remote Cards

Each card is a content source — PC games, PCVR, extras, and so on. Click a card to open that remote and browse its folders. The server automatically routes you to the least-loaded mirror, so you do not need to pick between PC-1, PC-2, etc. yourself.

3.2 Quota Status

If a remote is marked AT QUOTA, its card dims and becomes unclickable. The upstream storage provider has hit its bandwidth limit. Try a different remote or come back later — quota typically resets within 24 hours.

4. Main Browser Layout

The layout has a header, a toolbar with a breadcrumb trail, remote filter, search bar, and user info. The content area shows either the remotes grid or the files/folders inside a specific remote. Status messages at the top indicate loading, errors, or success.

5. Browsing Remotes & Folders

5.1 Opening a Remote

Click a remote card from the landing grid. If the root only has one folder, the app auto-enters it so you see games immediately.

5.2 Folder View

Inside a remote you see game folders and files. Each folder shows cover art (loaded fast from the server-side art cache), folder size, and last modified date.

5.3 Cross-Server Stub Folders

If a game folder is smaller than 1 KB, it is a stub pointing you elsewhere. You will see a message like "You must download from PCVR server". Switch to the indicated remote to get the actual game.

6. Searching and Filtering

Use the remote filter dropdown to narrow down to a specific remote or browse all at once. The search bar filters within the current view. Search may take a moment right after login while the index warms up — this is normal.

7. Game Art

Cover art is proxied from an upstream source and cached server-side after the first load. This means art loads quickly on repeat visits without extra CDN hits. If art is missing for a specific title, the folder will show a placeholder instead.

8. Downloading with ARMGDDN Companion

All game and content downloads are handled by the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app. The browser generates a secure, time-limited link and hands it off to the Companion via an armgddn:// deep link. Files are streamed directly from the download gateway — nothing passes through your web browser.

8.1 Install the Companion App

• Get the app – Use the "DOWNLOAD APP NOW" button on the landing page or grab it from the GitHub Releases link.
• First run – Launch the app at least once after installation so it can register the armgddn:// protocol handler with your OS.

8.2 Starting a Download

• Find the game – Navigate to the game or folder you want in ARMGDDN Browser.
• Click "Download with App" – The browser generates a secure link and triggers the armgddn:// deep link.
• Allow the prompt – Your browser may ask if it can open ARMGDDN Companion. Choose Open or Allow.
• Companion takes over – The app fetches the file manifest, queues the download, and starts transferring. You can close the browser tab — the download continues in the Companion.

9. Tips & Troubleshooting

• If nothing loads after login, confirm Telegram authentication succeeded and refresh the page.
• If a remote is AT QUOTA, pick another remote or try later. The server tracks multiple mirrors and picks the best one automatically.
• If you see a cross-server stub in a game folder, switch to the remote it points to (PC or PCVR).
• If art images are missing or slow, they may still be warming up in the server cache. A refresh will usually fix it.
• If "Download with App" does nothing, make sure the Companion is installed and your browser is allowed to open armgddn:// links. Reinstalling the app fixes this in most cases.
• If a download produces CRC or checksum errors on a multi-part archive, cancel it, wait a moment, and start it again. The gateway now uses a spawn lock to prevent the race condition that caused this in older versions.

10. FAQ

• Do I need to pay? No. The browser is free — "premium" describes the experience, not a subscription.
• Why Telegram? Telegram is used to verify your identity and channel membership. The login widget is provided directly by Telegram — ARMGDDN never sees your password.
• Can I break anything by browsing? No. Normal users are read-only. You can browse and download, but you cannot modify source data.
• Why do I need the Companion app? Large multi-part archives need a download manager that can handle parallel streams, resume partial files, and verify integrity. The Companion does all of that; a browser download cannot.
• What is a mirror? Mirrors are multiple servers hosting the same content (e.g., PC-1 and PC-2 both have the same games). The server picks the least-loaded mirror for every download automatically.

11. Using the ARMGDDN Companion App

The ARMGDDN Companion is a desktop app (Windows, Linux, macOS) that handles all downloads from ARMGDDN Browser. It uses bundled rclone under the hood to stream files reliably at full speed from the download gateway. You do not need to install or configure rclone yourself — everything is included.

11.1 Installation

• Windows: Download the .exe installer from GitHub Releases and run it.
• Linux: Download the .AppImage (recommended) or .deb package. For AppImage: right-click → Properties → "Allow executing as program", or run chmod +x from the terminal.
• macOS: Download the .pkg installer and run it. If the app is blocked by Gatekeeper, download Fix.command from the same release page and follow the steps in Section 11.2.

After installation, launch the app at least once so it registers the armgddn:// protocol with your OS.

11.2 Logging In

1. Open ARMGDDN Companion.
2. If the status shows Disconnected, click the Login button.
3. An embedded browser window opens showing the ARMGDDN login page.
4. Log in with your Telegram credentials as usual.
5. The window closes automatically once the app detects your session.
6. The status indicator turns green: Connected.

11.3 macOS "Fix.command"

Because the app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate, macOS may refuse to launch it. If this happens:

1. Download Fix.command from the same GitHub release page.
2. Right-click (or Control-click) Fix.command and choose Open.
3. If macOS blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to Fix.command.
4. A Terminal window opens — enter your system password when prompted.
5. Once complete, ARMGDDN Companion should launch normally.

11.4 How to Download

1. Browse: Open ARMGDDN Browser in any modern browser.
2. Find: Navigate to the game or folder you want.
3. Click: Hit the Download with App button.
4. Allow: When your browser asks to open ARMGDDN Companion, click Open or Allow.
5. Watch: The Companion fetches the file manifest and starts downloading. The browser tab can be closed — the download keeps going.

Controlling Downloads

• Pause / Resume – Pause stops active transfers immediately. Resume rescans your download folder, skips already-complete files, and continues from where things left off. Works best with multi-file downloads.
• Cancel – Stops and removes the download from the list.
• Open Folder – Appears when a download hits 100%. Opens the download folder in your OS file manager.

Note on single large files: If a download is one big .7z archive, pausing it means that file restarts from 0% on resume. Multi-file sets (e.g., .7z.001, .7z.002, ...) benefit the most from pause/resume since finished parts are skipped.

11.5 Settings & Configuration

Click the gear icon in the app header to open Settings.

• Download Path – Where games are saved. A subfolder is created per game automatically.
• Max Concurrent Downloads – How many files download in parallel (max 6). Default is 2. On fiber you can push this to 4–6 for faster overall speed. On slower or unstable connections, keep it at 1–2.
• Download Speed Limit – Cap the download speed in MB/s. Set to 0 for unlimited.
• Auto Extract .7z – Automatically extract .7z archives after download completes. Set it and forget it.
• Show Notifications – Desktop notifications when downloads finish.
• Minimize to Tray – Minimizing the window hides it to the system tray instead of showing in the taskbar.
• Close to Tray – Closing the window keeps the app running in the tray so in-progress downloads continue.
• Auto-Update – Automatically downloads and installs updates when the app starts.
• Start with OS – Launch the Companion automatically when you log into your computer.
• Start Minimized – When starting with the OS, launch directly to the tray instead of opening the window.

11.6 Troubleshooting

"Quota Exceeded" Error

The upstream storage provider has hit its bandwidth cap for that remote. The Companion cannot bypass this — try a different mirror if available, or wait up to 24 hours for the quota to reset.

"Expired Link" or "401 Unauthorized"

The secure download link has expired (they are short-lived by design).

1. Cancel the download in the Companion.
2. Go back to ARMGDDN Browser and click Download with App again to get a fresh link.

CRC / MD5 Checksum Errors on Multi-Part Archives

This can happen if a download started during a brief gateway restart or spike in demand. Cancel the affected download, wait a few seconds, and re-initiate from the browser. The gateway now handles concurrent requests with a spawn lock, so this is rare — but a retry always fixes it.

App Will Not Open Links

If "Download with App" does nothing, your OS is not routing armgddn:// links to the Companion. Reinstalling the app registers the protocol handler. On Windows you can also check Default Apps in Settings.

Where to Find Logs

Include your debug.log when asking for support:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\armgddn-downloader\
• Linux: ~/.config/armgddn-downloader/
• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/armgddn-downloader/

11.7 Updates

• The Companion checks for updates automatically on launch.
• If an update is available, a banner appears in the app UI.
• With Auto-Update enabled in Settings, updates download and install without any prompts.
• You can also trigger a manual check with the Check for Updates button in the header.

12. ARMGDDN Companion — Android

There is also an Android version of the Companion app. It works the same way as the desktop app — open ARMGDDN Browser on your phone, tap Download with App, and the Android app picks up the download automatically. Files are saved to a folder you choose on your device.

The Android app is distributed as a sideloaded APK — it is not on the Play Store.

12.1 Installation

1. On your Android device, open ARMGDDN Browser in your mobile browser and tap the DOWNLOAD APP NOW button, or go directly to the GitHub Releases page and download the .apk file.
2. When prompted, allow your browser (or Files app) to install from unknown sources. On most Android versions this is under Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps.
3. Tap the downloaded APK to install it.
4. Open the app at least once after installation. Android needs to register the armgddn:// deep link handler before download handoffs will work.

12.2 Logging In

1. Open ARMGDDN Companion on your Android device.
2. Tap the Login button (shown when the app is not yet authenticated).
3. An in-app browser opens the ARMGDDN login page.
4. Log in with your Telegram credentials as normal.
5. The browser closes automatically and the app transitions to the ready state.

12.3 Starting a Download

1. Open ARMGDDN Browser in your Android browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
2. Navigate to the game or folder you want.
3. Tap Download with App.
4. Android will ask which app to open the armgddn:// link with — choose ARMGDDN Companion.
5. The app opens, fetches the manifest, and starts downloading to your selected folder.

12.4 Download Folder

The first time you start a download, the app will prompt you to pick a folder using Android's built-in folder picker. Choose where you want games saved (e.g., your Downloads folder or an SD card path). The app remembers this choice for future downloads.

You can change the folder at any time from within the app.

12.5 Troubleshooting (Android)

Tap "Download with App" but nothing happens

Android has not registered the armgddn:// link handler. Make sure the app is installed and that you have opened it at least once. If the problem persists, reinstall the APK.

App asks to set a download folder every time

This can happen if Android revokes folder permissions after the app is updated or reinstalled. Tap the folder selector in the app, pick your folder again, and grant permanent access when prompted.

Can't install the APK ("Install blocked")

You need to allow installs from unknown sources for the app or browser you are using to open the APK. Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps and enable it for your browser or file manager.

12.6 Updates (Android)

The Android app checks for updates on launch and shows a banner if a newer version is available. Tap the update prompt to open the GitHub Releases page and download the new APK. Install it over the existing app — your settings and login session are preserved.
