ARMGDDN BROWSER

1. What ARMGDDN Browser Is

ARMGDDN Browser is a web app that lets you browse multiple content remotes (PC, PCVR, extras, etc.), view game folders with cover art and metadata, and download files. It is designed to be fast, secure, and read-only for normal users.

2. Getting Access & Logging In

2.1 Requirements

• A modern desktop or laptop with a supported operating system (Windows, Linux, or macOS).
• A modern web browser.
• A Telegram account for authentication.
• The ARMGDDN Companion desktop app installed (required for downloading games and large files; see Section 11 in this panel).

2.2 Telegram Authentication

On the login screen, use the Telegram login widget to authenticate. After Telegram confirms you, your avatar and name appear in the top-right and the remotes landing page unlocks.

3. Landing Page: Remotes Grid

3.1 Remote Cards

Each card represents a remote server or content source (PC, PCVR, 3D Printer Models, etc.). Click a card to open that remote and see its folders.

3.2 Quota Status

If a remote is "AT QUOTA", the card is dimmed and shows an overlay. You cannot click remotes that are at quota; try another remote or return later.

4. Main Browser Layout

The main layout includes a header, a toolbar with breadcrumb, remote filter, search bar and user info, and a content area that shows either the remotes grid or a files view for a specific remote/folder. Temporary status messages indicate loading, success, or errors.

5. Browsing Remotes & Folders

5.1 Opening a Remote

From the landing grid, click a remote (for example PC1 or PCVR2). The browser loads the root folder of that remote. In some cases, if a remote only has one folder, the app auto-enters it to show games directly.

5.2 Folder View

Inside a remote you see folders (often game titles) and files. Game folders may show cover art, size, and last modified time.

5.3 Cross-Server Stub Folders

If a game folder is smaller than 1 KB, it is treated as a stub. Instead of normal cover art you will see a message such as "You must download from PCVR server" or "You must download from PC server". Switch to the indicated remote to get the actual game.

6. Searching and Filtering

Use the remote filter dropdown to choose "All remotes" or a specific remote. The folder search bar lets you search within the current view. Right after login, search results may take a few moments while indexing warms up.

7. Working with Files & Games

Each row typically shows a cover area (art, placeholder, or stub message), the name, size, modified date, and action buttons. The system tries to show accurate game art, especially for short, single-word titles.

8. Downloading with ARMGDDN Companion

All game and content downloads are handled by the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app. The browser itself no longer provides direct downloads, batch helper pages, or server-side zip/7z archives.

8.1 Install the Companion App

• Get the app – Use the "DOWNLOAD APP NOW" button on the landing page or open the GitHub Releases link to install ARMGDDN Companion for your platform.
• First run – Launch the app after installation so it can register itself to handle armgddn:// links.

8.2 Starting a Download

• Pick a game/folder – In ARMGDDN Browser, navigate to the game or folder you want.
• Click "Download with App" – The browser will trigger an armgddn:// deep link for that content.
• Open the app – Your browser may prompt you to open "ARMGDDN Companion"; choose Open or Allow.
• Companion handles the rest – The desktop app fetches the manifest from the server, shows progress, and saves files to your configured download folder.

9. Tips & Troubleshooting

• If nothing loads after login, confirm Telegram authentication and refresh the page.
• If a remote is AT QUOTA, pick another remote or try again later.
• If you see a cross-server stub message in a game folder, switch to the indicated remote (PC or PCVR) to download the real content.
• If search is slow immediately after login, wait a bit while the index and art cache warm up.
• All game downloads run through the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app. If clicking "Download with App" does nothing, make sure the app is installed and your browser is allowed to open armgddn:// links.

10. FAQ

• Do I need to pay? No. The browser is free; "premium" refers to the experience, not a fee.
• Why Telegram? Telegram is used to verify identity and roles. The login widget itself is provided by Telegram.
• Can I break anything by clicking around? Normal users are read-only: you browse and download, but do not modify source data.

11. Using the ARMGDDN Companion App

The ARMGDDN Companion is a desktop application that works with the ARMGDDN Browser to download large games and files faster and more reliably than standard browser downloads. It is the recommended way to handle big or long-running downloads.

11.1 Getting Started

Installation

The companion is a standalone app. You do not need to configure rclone or other command-line tools manually; everything is bundled for you.

• Windows: Download the .exe installer from GitHub Releases and run it. If you use the Portable version, simply extract it and run the executable.
• Linux: Download the .AppImage (recommended) or .deb file. For AppImage builds, right-click the file, open Properties, and enable "Allow executing file as program" (or run chmod +x on the file).
• macOS: Download the .pkg file and run the installer. If the app doesn't work after installation, download and run Fix.command from the release page (see Section 11.2 for detailed steps).

Logging In

To download files, the companion needs to know that you are an authenticated ARMGDDN user.

1. Open the ARMGDDN Companion app.
2. If the status at the top says Disconnected or Awaiting First Download, click the Login button.
3. A window will pop up showing the ARMGDDN login page.
4. Log in with your normal ARMGDDN / Telegram-based credentials.
5. The window will close automatically once the app detects a valid session.
6. The status light should turn green and say Connected.

11.2 macOS "Fix.command" Instructions

Because the app is not signed with an Apple Developer ID, macOS may block it or it may fail to launch. If this happens:

1. Download Fix.command from the same release page where you got the app.
2. Right-click (or Control-click) Fix.command and select Open.
3. If macOS blocks it, go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security. Scroll down and click Open Anyway (or "Allow") for Fix.command.
4. Run the command. It will open a Terminal window; enter your system password when prompted.
5. Once the command completes, you should be able to launch ARMGDDN Companion normally.

11.3 How to Download

Once installed, the companion works seamlessly with the ARMGDDN Browser website.

1. Browse: Open ARMGDDN Browser in your preferred browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
2. Select: Find the game or folder you want to download.
3. Click: Use the Download with App button instead of a normal browser download.
4. Open: When your browser asks whether it should open "ARMGDDN Companion", choose Open or Allow.
5. Watch: The companion will pop up, fetch the file list (manifest), and start downloading automatically.

Controlling Downloads

• Pause / Resume – Click Pause to stop a running download and free your bandwidth. When you click Resume, the app rescans your download folder, skips files that are already finished, and only downloads what is still missing.
• Cancel – Click Cancel to stop the download and remove it from the list.
• Open Folder – Once a download reaches 100%, an Open Folder button appears. Click it to jump straight to your files in your OS file manager.

Important: If your download is a single giant file (for example a large .7z archive), pausing that download means that specific file will need to be restarted from 0% when you resume. Multi-file downloads benefit the most from pause/resume, because completed files are reused.

11.4 Settings & Configuration

Click the settings (gear) icon in the app header to adjust how the companion behaves.

• Download Path – Choose where games and files are stored. By default, the app creates a dedicated subfolder per game inside this path.
• Max Concurrent Downloads – Controls how many files are downloaded at once (default is 3). On slower or unstable connections, lowering this to 1–2 can improve reliability.
• Download Speed Limit – You can limit the total download speed (in MB/s). Set to 0 for unlimited speed.
• Auto Extract – If enabled, the app will automatically attempt to extract .7z archives after the download completes.
• Minimize/Close to Tray – Choose whether the app stays running in the system tray when minimized or closed.
• Auto-Update – If enabled, the app will automatically download and install updates on startup.
• Start with OS – (Windows/macOS) Option to launch the companion automatically when you log in to your computer.
• Notifications – Toggle desktop notifications when downloads finish.
• System Tray – Choose whether closing or minimizing the window keeps the app running in the system tray so downloads can continue in the background.

11.5 Troubleshooting

Here are some of the most common issues and how to fix them.

"Quota Exceeded" Error

This means the upstream storage provider (often Google Drive) has reached its download limit for that file due to high demand.

The companion cannot bypass this. You will need to wait (typically up to 24 hours) or choose a different mirror or game if available.

"Expired Link" or "401 Unauthorized"

The secure link generated by ARMGDDN Browser has expired or is no longer valid.

1. Cancel the download in the companion app.
2. Refresh the game page in ARMGDDN Browser.
3. Click Download with App again to generate a fresh link.

App Will Not Open Links

If clicking a Download with App button does nothing, your OS may not know that armgddn:// links should open the companion.

Reinstalling the app usually fixes this. On Windows, you can also check the Default Apps settings to ensure the protocol is associated with ARMGDDN Companion.

"Secure Connection Failed" / "HTTPS Required"

For security, the companion only uses HTTPS URLs. If a manifest ever contains a non-HTTPS URL, the app will refuse to download it.

This is normally a server-side configuration issue. Please report the specific game or folder to the ARMGDDN admins so they can fix the manifest.

Where to Find Logs

When asking for help in support chats, it is very helpful to include your companion log file (debug.log):

• Windows: %APPDATA%\armgddn-downloader\
• Linux: ~/.config/armgddn-downloader/
• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/armgddn-downloader/

11.7 Updates

• The companion checks for updates automatically when you open it.
• If an update is available, a prompt will appear in the app UI.
• Clicking Update downloads and installs the new version.
• You can also trigger a manual check from the Settings panel using the "Check for Updates" button.
